SECRET CRAVINGS 4TH ANNIVERSARY BLOG HOP

 

 

 

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015 everyone and to kick start a whole year of blogging off, I present

the Secret Cravings Publishing 4th Anniversary Blog Hop.

 

Anniversaries and birthdays are celebrated in my home with a lot of enthusiasm.  There are five of us plus the two cats.  We have two birthdays in February, one in May, anniversary and birthday in August, finishing off with hubby's birthday in September. So come Boxing day a list is handed to me from my daughter with her ideas of what she would like, closely followed by her brother, and he just rattles a list of what Father Christmas forgot to give him. I really cannot for the life of me remember what they both wanted now. 

 

We have a set thing that we do for the kids.  It involves a present, cake, meal of their choice and some sort of outing.  Normally a trip to the cinema or bowling.  When it comes to us adults, well there we are treading in uncharted waters. 

 

Valentines day in our home is a bit of a doozy.  Whereas most women are wined and dined and given roses and chocolates, nine years ago I spent the day in agony, ending up almost giving birth to my daughter in the front seat of a Vauxhall Astra.  It was only through sheer determination I managed to get inside the hospital before she made her appearance just minutes later.  What a way to spend the most romantic day of the year.  However, I am glad she did, because she shares her birthday with her father as it was the day his parents brought him home to live with them from the orphanage. 

 

Anniversaries can also be sad as well as happy.  For me April 12th is a particularly poignant day, as it not only is my father's birthday but also the anniversary of the day he lost his life in a lorry accident in 1983.  I was eleven at the time, and I still mark that day with my husband buying a bouquet of flowers.  

 

 April 13th this year will mark two years since I signed my contract with Secret Cravings Publishing for The MisAdventures of Pann Haggerty.  2015 will see Viva Pann Vegas, The MisAdventures of Pann Haggerty Book 2 published, and as my prize I will give away a copy of Pann Haggerty Book 1, Norty or Nice and a copy of Viva when it is released.

The Art of Procrastination: Otherwise Known As How I Wrote This Book

There were several instances where I worried that this book would never get finished, either due to my characters having meltdowns and self-actualization crises or because I had no idea what these meltdowns meant for the book. So we had a lot of fun together. The book languished, Chloe and Noah thought about it, and we both lived in a special land of procrastination.

This was me struggling with Chloe’s commitment issues. Even I wanted to do Noah and he’s fictional.

For a little while, I was afraid to look or even type hoping she’d worked out her issues so they could get to the dirty, dirty sex.

Then she threw me for 180 that I was in no way prepared for during the book.

 

Yeah, that wasn’t in the cards.

 

But it all worked out in the end, otherwise we wouldn’t have a book

 

Warning: This book contains a geeky, secretly insecure but overly cocky handy-man with a penchant for pleasing, a dominatrix in training who’s on the rebound, and enough smut to strip a couple layers off your soul. Plus there’s mac n’ cheese with a smattering of self-actualization for good measure.

After Chloe Barrons’ fiancé cheats on her via webcam, she begrudgingly accepts her Type-A mother’s offer of a spur of the moment luxury spa weekend. But things don’t play out quite from point A to point B when she arrives drunk and disoriented on the front porch of a deserted North Carolina beach house. From the very start she’s caught off guard by Noah Knightly, a sinfully sexy, self-proclaimed commitment-phobe who’s a handyman for his sister’s relationship rehabilitation center—a rehab where Chloe is the sole guest during off-season.

But faced with temptation, to stay guarded she’ll have to call the shots.

Noah shouldn’t have taken Chloe’s reservation. But in need of a second pair of hands to fix up the beach house, he throws all his sister’s rules out the window. Soon he worries that maybe he’s bitten off more than he can chew: each day Chloe cracks more of his cocky façade bringing down his guards to reveal a stuttering geek who has a hidden will to please her in any way possible.

With no way to ignore her pain, Noah sets himself up as a guinea pig to prove to Chloe that not all men are created equal—in or out of the bedroom. As Chloe comes into her own through every sexual session, Noah needs to decide if he’s man enough to accept the one thing he never thought he wanted—love.

SWEET SUMMER LOVE BLOG HOP

Hi and welcome to the Sweet Summer Love Blog Hop.

I'm very privileged to be part of this wonderful group of authors taking part. Please hop around the blogs and discover some talented writers.

Summer in England is known for its unpredictability, so each time we plan for a weeks holiday in the sun, an umbrella and certain amount of warm clothing is necessary.  Our yearly fish & chips on the beach or at the lake normally ends up in a mad dash for the car.  There are so many incredibly gorgeous places to visit here in Blighty, and I look forward to getting in the car, driving to our cottage and having a good nosey around.  As a tip, Kent has some amazing vineyards, Cornwall and Devon have scrummy cream teas and ice cream.  The Lake District is awesome and the Highlands of Scotland are awe-inspiring. 

With the summer holidays coming up in England in around 5 weeks (not that I'm counting), I thought it would be fun to ask the following question.

In your fantasy, where would you spend your ideal holiday and with whom?  I have an e-copy of The MisAdventures of Pann Haggerty to give away to one lucky commentator.

As for me, well, I know its probably a bit twee, but I go on my ideal holiday, every year with my husband and kids.  They may be annoying at times, but I can't imagine it without them.  Besides, who else can make you laugh with dreadful knock-knock jokes.

Hi everyone. Yes this is KOOKS actually writing a blog. After the past few mad weeks of ankle breaking, children illness and other things, I am stoked to let you know that The MisAdventures of Pann Haggerty is now available.

Now that the nights are drawing in and the Christmas season is underway, what could be more appropriate than to indulge in warming, hearty, stick-to-your-bones recipes that will warm your cockles from tip to toe. At the back of the book is the first part of Pann's cook book. Including a treasured Christmas pudding recipe (from my mother-in-law) and Christmas cake which needs making as soon as possible. The longer it is matured, so much the better.
